Athletic emergency preparedness & response

When an emergency happens, the right information should already be there.

Sideline Safe gives your athletic program one place to prepare for emergencies, keep athlete medical information and physicals current, know who's on the field each day, and put the right information in the hands of the people responsible for responding.

Prepare

Before practice, know each athlete's medical information, physical, and emergency contacts are in place—and see who still needs follow-up.

Respond

When an emergency is declared, the athlete's medical profile, one-tap 911 and parent calling, and automatic alerts to your emergency contacts are right there.

Document

Afterward, keep a record of the emergency and exactly who accessed sensitive information—and when.

The problem today

The emergency never happens where the plan is written down.

Schools already collect physicals. Parents submit allergies, medications, and emergency contacts. Athletic departments write emergency action plans and assign coaches responsibilities. But when something happens at practice, on a field, or away from campus, that information can be scattered across forms, binders, offices, emails, and different systems. Sideline Safe brings it together.

01

The information isn't where the emergency is

Medical details, contacts, and the plan can be in an office or a binder—not on the field where an athlete goes down.

02

Not everyone has finished

Without a live tracker, athletic directors and coaches end up chasing missing physicals and forms by hand.

03

No one wants to improvise the plan

A written plan doesn't help much if people are still deciding who calls 911, who reaches the parent, and who meets EMS.

What Sideline Safe gives you

Know the athlete. Know the plan. Know your role. Know what's happening.

Know your athletes are ready

Track physicals, required information, emergency contacts, allergies, medications, and completion status before athletes take the field.

Know the plan

Keep the emergency contacts and roles your plan relies on defined and reachable for the people responsible for carrying it out.

Know your role

Assign the emergency roles ahead of time so no one is deciding who does what in the moment.

Know what's happening

When an emergency is declared, responders get the athlete's information and one-tap 911—and your emergency contacts are alerted automatically.

One platform, three moments

Prepare before an emergency. Respond during one. Document what happened.

Sideline Safe is the operational layer between emergency preparedness and emergency response—so the information, plan, people, and response come together instead of living in separate places.

1 Before · Prepare

Be ready

Keep athlete medical information current, collect and track physicals, watch clearance and completion, track daily attendance, maintain emergency contacts, and assign emergency roles before the season starts.

Physicals & athlete readiness

Know who's ready before practice starts.

Parents upload each athlete's physical and complete their medical information. Sideline Safe turns that into a clear readiness status for the staff who need it—so an athletic director can see at a glance who's cleared and who still needs a current physical or missing information, long before anyone's on the field.

A physical can be current, expiring soon, expired, or missing—and Sideline Safe flags each one so nothing slips through before the season begins.

Attendance

Know who's in your care — every day.

Coaches take attendance in seconds, so your program always knows who showed up, who's on the field, and who isn't — every practice and every game, not just when something goes wrong.

And the moment an emergency is declared, that same roster tells responders exactly who is present and accounted for—so no one is missed when it matters most.

Emergency responsibilities

No figuring it out in the moment.

An emergency isn't the time to decide who's doing what. Sideline Safe lets your program assign the emergency roles ahead of time, so the moment an emergency is declared, the right people are notified with their responsibility and the information they need.

Assignments are made per team, and your school's always-notified contacts—like an administrator or school nurse—are alerted on every emergency, no matter which team it involves.

Our lane

Built for the moment other systems weren't.

Most athletic platforms are built around registration, schedules, rosters, and communication. Sideline Safe is built around a different question: if something happens to an athlete right now, does the person standing beside them have what they need?

Other platforms manage the seasonRegistration, schedules, rosters, scores, and team chat help you run the program.
Sideline Safe protects the athleteWe focus on one thing: making sure the right people have the right information, know the plan, and know what to do when an athlete needs help.
That distinction is the whole pointSideline Safe supports the emergency plan your school already has—it doesn't replace it, and it isn't another general sports-management tool.

Security & privacy

Built for sensitive information about minors.

Sideline Safe handles medical information about young athletes, so access is controlled, scoped, and recorded. We describe our safeguards in plain, specific terms rather than making broad regulatory claims.

Role-based access

Admins, coaches, and parents each see only what their role should—nothing more.

Coaches see only their teams

Access is scoped to a coach's assigned team and season, and expires when the season ends.

Medical information is emergency-gated

Coaches reach a full medical record only through a declared emergency—and every time it's opened is logged.

Parents control their child's record

Families submit and update their own child's medical details and emergency contacts.

Every access is recorded

See who viewed sensitive information and when—and parents can see the history for their own child.

Never sold

Athlete information is never sold or used for advertising.

How it works

One school account. Clear ownership at every step.

Sideline Safe keeps setup simple while making each user's permissions explicit.

1. School activates

Sideline Safe sets up the licensed school account and registers the athletic director as the primary admin.

2. Admin organizes

The admin activates sports, creates teams, and assigns each coach only to the team they manage.

3. Coaches build rosters

Coaches add athletes, share one secure team link, and monitor completion without editing medical records.

4. Parents stay in control

Parents submit and update only their own child's information. Authorized staff can then view it when needed.

Who it is for

A school-level safety system—not another coach-by-coach tool.

Sideline Safe is licensed to schools and youth sports organizations so leadership can create consistent processes, visibility, and access across every team.

Written for the person responsible for making sure an athletic program is prepared—athletic directors, school and district athletic leadership, and youth sports organization leaders.

Admin · Athletic director

Sets up sports, teams, and coaches; sees completion across the school; and can view or correct records when necessary.

Coach · Team access

Manages the team roster, invites parents, tracks submissions, and—during a declared emergency—reaches the medical information responders need.

Parent · Record owner

Submits and updates only their own child's medical details and emergency contacts, helping keep information current and accurate.

Straight answers

Questions schools are likely to ask.

Sideline Safe is a focused product, and trust starts with being clear about what it does, what it requires, and how access is controlled.

What is Sideline Safe?

An athletic emergency preparedness and response platform. It keeps athlete medical information, physicals, emergency contacts, and roles ready before an emergency, and puts the athlete's information and one-tap 911 and parent calling in responders' hands during one.

Does Sideline Safe replace our school's emergency action plan?

No. Sideline Safe is built to support the emergency action plan your school already has, not replace it. It keeps the medical information, emergency contacts, and roles that plan depends on organized and reachable for the people who carry it out.

What actually happens during an emergency?

A coach or admin declares the emergency for the athlete. That opens the athlete's emergency medical profile, offers one-tap calling for 911 and the parent, lets the responder share their location, and automatically texts the school's designated emergency contacts that there's an active emergency.

Can coaches change an athlete's medical information?

No. The parent who submitted the information—and authorized school admins—make updates. Coaches reach a full medical record only through a declared emergency, and every time it's opened is recorded.

Is sensitive information protected?

Access is role-based and scoped to a coach's own team and season, medical records are emergency-gated and logged, parents control their own child's information, and athlete information is never sold. We use precise language about our safeguards rather than broad regulatory claims.

How difficult is school setup?

Setup is designed to be handled by the athletic department without a major IT project. After activation, an admin can select sports, create teams, invite coaches, and begin roster collection the same day.
